SPORTS :

Great job to Alexis and Eric on their runs at the Class D Coaches State Championships this past weekend. Eric finished just shy of a season best, with a 20:21 good for 104th of nearly 200 runners. On the girls side, Alexis continued to break her own school record, becoming the first girl in Brethren history to run a sub-20:00 5k, finishing the race in 19:53, good for 3rd overall and coaches association all-state honors. The runners will be back in action this Saturday for Regionals in Benzie. –
4th and 5th grade girls basketball practice will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week from 3-4:30. –
Varsity Cheerleaders are having a Pink Out Parents Night on Friday, October 25th. Please wear pink in support of all who have been touched by cancer and make a donation!! Come to the game and help us Cheer for a Cure!! –
Congratulations to Stella Estes. Stella qualified this summer while attending McCracken basketball camp at Olivet College to compete this last weekend in Indiana in a perimeter, lay-up and free throw shoot out. Stella competed against other qualifiers from Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan and Indiana and placed 9th in her grade bracket. –
Halle Richardson’s travel softball team competed last weekend in Potterville, Mi. Her team was runner up and qualified for a National Fast Pitch 2020 World Series!
MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL:

Quiz Bowl practices during breakfast everyday this week as we prepare for our Quiz Central competition on Oct 30th. –
Junior Prom Committee meeting tomorrow during lunch in Mrs. Riggs’s room. –
Thursday at 6:00 there will be a junior class Parent/student meeting in Mrs. Riggs’ room 122. The meeting will last at most 25 minutes. Please remind your parents to attend. –
Jostens will be coming tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 22nd, at 8 am with Senior Graduation information and 11 am with Class Ring information. They will return Tuesday, Oct. 29th for orders at high school lunch. –
NHS Members: Please check in with Eleni or Megan to find out whose class you are responsible for 4th hour. We need to count and report every day! –
Starting today, NHS will be hosting our annual Make a Difference week! This means every 4th hour class in the entire school will be participating in a school wide food and toiletry drive contest. The class that collects the most donations will receive a cider and doughnut party! This competition will wrap up on Friday and winners will also be announced on Friday. All goods will be donated to the Lakeview Church of the Brethren food pantry, located right here in Brethren. –
