*Brethren High School/Middle SchoolKND Elementary Tuesday, May 22nd, 2018 – Thank you to all that have helped the fifth grade class raise enough money to send a Veteran on a trip this fall with Mid Michigan Honor Flight! As a great community, we made our $500 goal in less than a month! We will present the check on Friday at the assembly.- This week is the last week for after school suppers. Make sure you go down to the cafeteria at 3:10 today and Wednesday! SPORTS : – Tonight the Laker Cats take on Gladwin at home, kickoff 5pm! Tonight we will also be honoring our 7 seniors so lets fill those stands and show those seniors just how much we love them! Varsity girls soccer players be in coaches room by 3:45!- CONGRATULATIONS to the Co-Conference Baseball Champs. The boys swept BRCCA in a double mercy victory last night, 13-0 and 16-0. In game one Ian, Skylar, Jake, and Adrian all hit a double. Jake also hit a triple, which had an over-throw to third, to score. (That’s a 360 ft or 109 meter sprint Mr. Grif) Singles were logged by Hunter Jake, Jalen, and Troy. Jake faced 16 batters striking out 14 for another No-Hitter game. In game two, the bats stayed hot. Singling were: Mason, Hunter, Gavin, Troy and Adrian. Hitting the only double of the game and the game ending hit was Ian. Gavin and Hunter were 3/3 at the plate. Jake face 13 batters striking out five for a no-hitter until Skylar came in as relief to finish the game with a pick-off and put out to first. Everyone contributed to the wins and it was a great day to be a Bobcat Baseball Player! – Only the softball team plays on Thursday vs Baldwin. Baldwin does not have a baseball team. – There will be a meeting today during lunch, in the RTC room, for all current 6-11 graders interested in playing football next fall. – Boys basketball players. The camp forms are due on Wednesday! MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL: – Any student, grades 8-11, who wishes to run for class officer or student council rep needs to pick up nomination form from Mr. Amstutz, fill it out and return it to him by this Friday. – All new NHS members–the sophomores–should come to room 135 for a meeting on Wednesday during lunch. – “SEEDS end of the year party is May 24th at Brethren Park.
